Cath le Couteur

Cath is the co-founder of Shooting People (shootingpeople.org) the online social network dedicated to the support and promotion of independent filmmaking since 1998. Currently it has 35,000 members in the UK and USA.

A writer/director and graduate of the NFTS, Cath has won numerous awards on the film festival circuit for her short films. She was selected by the Cannes Cinefondation Residency in 2005 (6 filmmakers are selected from around the world each year) to develop her feature films and currently has road movie ‘Tayte and Cody’ (winner of the Northern Lights Pitch Prize) attached with Ipso Facto Films.

In January 2010 she was the recipient of the Sundance Alfred P Sloan Commissioning prize for ‘Bed’ – an ensemble drama about 5 strangers participating in a bed-rest study to help astronauts in space. She has also has worked over the years as a camera assistant for Mike Figgis. Cath is a 2010 Rockefeller and Macdowell Colony fellow.
