Dan Reed’s powerful, visually-distinctive documentary work has won international acclaim, including 5 BAFTA wins and nominations, the Prix Italia, Deutsche Fernsehpreis, a Peabody Award and a Primetime Emmy nomination. He also directs drama.

Born in the UK, Dan was educated at the French Lycée in London and graduated from Cambridge University with a first-class degree in Russian. He spent his first 6 years as a director at the BBC before leaving in 1998 to make a documentary for Channel 4 about the war in Kosovo. Since then Dan has combined directing drama and documentary for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and HBO. He lives in London with his wife and 3 children.
