After graduating from the University of Leeds, Lara began her career in television as a researcher on current affairs programmes at the BBC in Birmingham.
Since going freelance in 2000, she has worked on a broad range of documentaries, factual television and online projects. From hard-hitting investigations for Panorama and Cutting Edge to the Grierson-nomintated Make Me Honest and RTS-nominated website Make Women Matter. She also directed an episode of BBC3’s popular documentary series Peckham Finishing School for Girls.
Lara particularly enjoys working with young people, families, foreign cultures and marginalised groups and has always strived to tell important stories in highly engaging and entertaining ways. She has just completed the observational documentary series Fistula Hospital for Al Jazeera English.
