Directors UK returned to Sheffield Doc/Fest on Monday 8 June to host a session looking at the methods directors use to keep control of their documentary throughout the edit.


In response to the Creative Skillset workforce survey, the Creative Diversity Network and Creative Skillset are calling for the TV industry to look urgently at the numbers of disabled staff in television and come together to improve representation levels.


Directors UK attended day 2 of this year’s Creative Week festival, an annual conference connecting the worlds of television, film and advertising. We were there to report back on two of the sessions that we thought might be of particular interest to members: Sense of Direction and Creative Funding.


On Monday 1 June we hosted an evening with the development team from Film4 to hear from them about how they work with and nurture talent, the funding that's available to filmmakers, and about their creative focus over the next few years. We were there to tweet from the session.


After a concerted campaign by Directors UK and its members, we're very pleased to announce that the Royal Television Society will be introducing a new Director category to the RTS Craft & Design Awards 2014-2015.
