Communications Team Assistant

Directors UK is the professional association for film and television directors. It is a collecting society, administering authorial rights payments on behalf of British film and television directors, and a campaigning body seeking to protect and enhance the creative, economic and contractual rights of directors. Directors UK hosts events, screenings and workshops for members. We are looking to recruit a Communications Team Assistant to join the team at our Central London office.

The duties of the Communications Team Assistant will include the following:

  1. Assist with the set up and running of all members’ events, including booking venues and hospitality,  and assisting at screenings
  2. Manage room bookings for all usage of Directors UK’s events room and members’ lounge, and ensure rooms are kept well-maintained
  3. Responsibility for managing camera and kit bookings and hire by members
  4. Diary management and travel booking for the Communications team
  5. Responsibility for day to day running of the audio visual systems in Directors UK
  6. Dealing with members’ enquiries and managing events guest lists
  7. Meet and greet all visitors to Directors UK for any Communications related activity

Essential Qualities

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Well-organised and flexible in your approach to your work
  • Able to work to deadlines and cope with periodic increases in workload
  • A team player
  • Good customer service skills

Desirable Qualities

  • Front of House experience
  • A genuine knowledge and interest in film and television industries and in the work of directors
  • Technology- friendly: familiar with operating a range of Audio-visual equipment, or a willingness to learn

Terms of employment:

Salary £18,500 pa

Hours:  Office hours for this role are flexible as you will be required to work up to 3 evenings per week and occasional weekends.

Holidays: 25 days per year (plus all public and bank holidays)
