Member Info

Find a Director will put our members in front of producers, talent managers and other interested parties for the first time, opening up a whole new avenue for employment opportunities and other collaborations.

Features

Through your profile, you will be able to:

  • highlight your skills and credentials
  • choose which of your credits are seen first, and hide the ones you don’t want seen
  • display your showreel (please note: this must be a YouTube or Vimeo link)
  • use your biog to highlight your experience
  • declare your availability
  • list referees
  • choose which locations you’re willing to work
  • pick which genres you’re interested or experienced with

You will also be able to receive messages directly to your Directors UK profile inbox, meaning you can be contacted personally by potential employers. However, please note that this option, along with many of the others listed above, are only open to members of the New Membership Scheme: to make the most of this exciting new web feature, you’ll need to have signed up. Click here for details.

Completing your profile

We have already spoken to a number of potential users of this feature, such as broadcasters and production companies, and have been met with an enthusiastic and positive response. However, to ensure that all users get the most out of Find a Director, it is essential that as many members as possible take the time to complete the profile in as much detail as they are able.

To complete your profile, please follow these steps:

  • Click My Profile at the top of your screen, then click the red Edit Profile button on the right-hand side of that page.
  • Scroll down to the Extended Details section of the page, and make sure you fill in each section with as much detail and accuracy as possible.
  • Scroll further down to the Referee Details, and add any referees you may wish to include here. You can also choose whether you wish to make your Agent Details publicly viewable, by clicking the box next to “Allow anyone to view my Agent Details”.
  • Finally, to ensure your profile appears in future searches, make sure the “Add my profile to Find a Director” box is ticked. Then all you need to do is click Save details.

Hiding and promoting credits

It is also possible for members to hide certain past credits, meaning they will not be visible to any viewers of their profile, but will continue to receive distribution payments from Directors UK as where appropriate. And members can promote credits too, meaning that when their name appears on a search results page, they have the choice of the three credits that appear underneath their name.

To promote and hide credits, follow these steps:

  • Click My Profile at the top of your screen, then scroll down to your list of credits at the bottom of the page.
  • Find the credit you wish to hide or promote to the search results page, and click Edit.
  • Tick the box at the top of the page next to Promote credit or Hide credit, then scroll down and click Save details.

To promote and hide any non-film or TV credits that are not currently on your profile, such as music videos, short films etc, follow these steps:

  • Click My Profile at the top of your screen, then scroll down to the credits section at the bottom of the page.
  • Click Add Credit, then Choose Credit Type: all other works (e.g. music videos, commercials, digital media etc), then click Continue.
  • Click Promote Credit or Hide Credit at the top of the page, then fill in the other details below and select Save details.

Please note: it is not possible to promote or hide film and TV credits that are not currently on your profile. You must first submit the credit for verification by Directors UK staff, and then follow the steps above once the credit has appeared on your profile.

Anyone know a good Marrakesh fixer who's done single-camera documentaries? There are lots of drama ones, but I'm not doing a Life of Brian sequel (although someone probably should). Thanks, Richard

Can anyone recommend a Central London location for shooting an interview. Needs to look like an office
