12 Years a Slave, Captain Phillips among the BAFTA nominations

Paul Greengrass and Steve McQueen had cause to celebrate today with the announcement of the BAFTA Film nominations for 2014. Both were nominated for Best Director, whilst Greengrass' Captain Phillips and McQueen's 12 Years a Slave are in the running for Best Film. Both are up for a host of other awards, too.

Elswhere, Metro Manila, directed by D-UK member Sean Ellis, is in the running for Best Foreign Language Film and Stephen Frears'Philomena is up for Best Film.
