We welcome Chancellor George Osborne’s announcement in his Autumn Statement of plans to introduce a new tax incentive for children’s television, to sit alongside the recent animation credit.

Beryl Richards, Vice Chair of Directors UK said;

“This announcement is great news for Children’s television programming.  Following the success of the introduction of TV Tax credits for high end drama and animation we are delighted that government has listened to calls from the industry to offer similar support to the UK children’s production industry.  The UK is world renowned for its innovative children’s programming and it is great that the government is recognising the cultural and economic importance of children’s TV in the production landscape.  This type of investment is good news for both children’s audiences and the creative sector.  We look forward to the introduction of tax incentives leading to more opportunities for home-grown talent. “
