Annabel Jankel

Following its World Premiere in Toronto and European Premiere in Zurich, Tell It To The Bees, starring Anna Paquin and Holliday Grainger, was screened at festivals across the globe and released worldwide in May 2019.

Founder of two award-winning production companies – Cucumber Studios in London, and MJZ (Morton Jankel Zander) in LA, NY and London, Annabel Jankel’s career began directing commercials, title sequences and music videos for Artists such as Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, Tom Tom Club, Miles Davis, Queen and George Harrison. As Co-creator and Co-director of Max Headroom, the character became a world-wide cultural icon, and a recent acquisition of The Museum Of Modern Art in NYC. This led to directing two Hollywood feature films with co-director Rocky Morton. Her commercials career has included directing award-winning commercials for Greenpeace, Speedo, Hallmark, Coca Cola and Bell. 

Jankel directed the award winning TV film Skellig (the Owl Man) from the Carnegie awarded YA novel by David Almond for Sky1 in the UK. She directed the Music and Documentary series Live from Abbey Road and Abbey Road Classics, for Channel 4 in the UK and Sundance Channel in the US, recording over 70 of the world’s leading Artists including Massive Attack, Herbie Hancock, Paul Simon, Brian Wilson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheryl Crow and The Killers.

As a UK and US citizen, Jankel works between London and Los Angeles.
