Biography

Simon J. Williamson worked extensively as an actor in West End Theatre, Rep, fringe, Radio, Tv and Film and over 200 hours of audio books, before deciding to work behind the camera. He has extensive experience with developing scripts, working freelance for both independents and broadcasters, theatre, literary agency JFL and his own Script Consultancy, company Doctor Script. Directed two videos for Mighty Pen and Readers Digest, THE MEANING OF DREAMS I and II. His short video drama, FOETAL ATTRACTION was Highly Commended at the BAVA Awards. He went on to make THE SEARCH FOR DEEPA, a spoof documentary about a charismatic and corrupt Indian guru. A Feature film sequel is currently in development. His short black comedy, THE UNDERSTUDY (in the British Council film catalogue) has become the pilot for VICIOUS VENDETTAS, an anthology series of half-hour black comedies. His next short, THE RIGHT HAND MAN, a rites of passage drama set in Wales, has been to festivals around the world, including runner-up for two awards at The Swansea Bay Film Festival and a Finalist at the Rome International Film Festival. This is now the pilot for a proposed 6 x 30 minutes Tv series, LARRY's TOWN. His prize-winning pitch at The Raindance Film Festival is being developed as a British low budget comedy, ON LOCATION, and his American screenplay, THE HOGSWOOD INCIDENT won an award at Screenplay Festival in Los Angeles in 2009.
