Biography

Gaëlle is a film and immersive writer, director based in London.  She is a Sundance, SXSW, Venice Production Bridge, Series Mania, Story Futures Academy and LSFF alum. Her short films include Awakening (starring Tracy Wiles, WINNER Best Drama at New York Shorts Film Festival 2015), The Feast (starring Katie Leung, WINNER Best Production Design at Underwire Film Festival 2018) and Mechanical Souls (starring Janet Hsieh and George Young, WINNER Best VR Stereography at the EMEA Lumière Awards 2019). 

Gaëlle was a 2020 Directors UK Inspire Mentee, a 2021 BAFTA Crew member and 2022 Berlinale Talent. In 2021, she was awarded “Most Promising Creator” by Eurofest XR at Stereopsia.  In 2020 she co-created the VR series (Hi)Story of a Painting, which was supported by Creative XR. The first episode, « What’s the Point ? » was selected at SXSW 2021 and the second episode. « The Light in the Shadow » also premiered at SXSW and won the Special Jury Recognition for Immersive Storytelling in 2022. "The Light in the Shadow" has been translated into Spanish and Korean and gone on to screen at Mediamorfosis and BIFAN, with more festival announcements coming soon. 

Gaëlle is also currently in development on her first feature film. She trained as a writer at the NFTS, from which she holds a certificate, and as writer, director at the London Film School, from which she holds an MA in Filmmaking. She also holds a BA in Art History and Spanish Literature from Skidmore College.  Bilingual in French and English, Gaëlle works in both languages and is always up for a new challenge.
