Biography

Award winning director of commercials and short films. Fuelled by the award received from Mexico’s First Lady for my first ever film, I came to London 8 years ago to pursue my dreams of directing projects that inform, engage and inspire and since then I have received awards at Oscar and BAFTA qualifying festivals.

In 2015, I made the short film “Quetzal”, which was UK, Mexico and Romanian co-
production and was shot in the Mexican jungle won “Best Film” at Les Femmes

Underground Film Festival amongst many other wins and festival screenings. In 2017 I made the documentary, “Laji’in: Birds Without Homeland”, about the reallocation of Syrian refugees in Lesvos, Greece. The film was selected for the BAFTA-qualifying Underwire Film Festival, Oaxaca International Film Festival and has continued to screen across multiple venues and platforms around the globe, such as the acclaimed  David Reviews monthly screenings to raise awareness of the refugee crisis.

In 2018, I was commissioned by Bucharest International Dance Film Festival to direct a dance piece “Never Ending” It premiered and won second place at BIDFF and has since been used across online platforms and local communities to raise awareness for abortion laws and education.

In recent years I was featured in Badass.Gal a project by the Young Creative Council to celebrate young female creatives, became part of the Cinesisters and a member of Free the Work and Directors UK.

Earlier this year I was a semifinalist on the Channel 4, 4Stories scheme. I am currently in festival circuits with several short films, most recently my sci-fi comedy “Home for Aged Time Travellers.

I am currently developing my debut feature film “The Family Way” with screenwriter Jade Alexander (“Night Bus”), based on my experiences of a conservative Mexican upbringing.
